The Rule of Six – sounds like an Agatha Christie novel! Fortunately, this new rule does not have an adverse effect on the numbers that can attend a funeral service. In churches, crematorium chapels and at graveside the maximum number of mourners allowed to attend is 30. This is the upper limit and it is worth checking with us or the venue just to be sure as some places due to size limitations and their own interpretation of the guidance may reduce this number.
The rule of six should be considered if you are planning a wake or funeral reception as these types of gatherings are not exempt and you could find yourself in a sticky situation.
