Once again we find ourselves in a National Lockdown. Whilst this is a worrying time it is with some relief that funerals remain unaffected. The government has given the following advice:
‘Funerals can be attended by a maximum of 30 people. Linked religious, belief-based or commemorative events, such as stone settings and ash scatterings can also continue with up to 6 people in attendance. Anyone working is not counted in these limits. Social distancing should be maintained between people who do not live together or share a support bubble.’
Graveside services and burials can continue. These services are also limited to 30 attendees.
Just one note of caution: Individual venues such as places of worship, crematoriums and cemeteries are able to manage the guidance at a local level to reflect their own requirements. There has been no suggestion at this stage that there will be a reduction in the numbers of attendees allowed at venues throughout Northamptonshire. Should this or anything else change that may impact on the funeral your funeral director will be in contact.
As always – Stay Safe.
