Following the Prime Minister’s speech and details on the roadmap out of lockdown we wanted to update you on how this will effect funerals.
There is no provision to increase the numbers allowed to attend a funeral until the lockdown is fully lifted in June. For now this means a maximum of 30 attendees at a service, even if that service is outside.
There will be changes that reflect on how many can attend a wake/funeral reception or a burial or scattering of ashes. The current number allowed is 6. From 12th April this will increase to a maximum of 15 and from the 17th May it will increase further to a maximum of 30. However as the Prime Minster pointed out this will only work if we all stick to rules to help reduce the infection rate.
There are no other changes to any of the rules already in force. Sorry, still no singing!
We are pleased that there is a glimmer of light ahead. Stay safe.
