Hollowells and Coronavirus. Visiting the Chapel of Rest.
This news is given with a great deal of regret. We have decided that from now until the foreseeable future if your relative’s death was related to Coronavirus or its symptoms, we won’t be able to allow you to visit our Chapel of Rest. We have taken this decision to help combat the further spread of the infection.
We didn’t want to take these measures at what is a very emotional time for you, however due to lack of transparency and disclosure surrounding the cause of death and the need to protect our customers and staff we have been left with no other option.
What we mean by Coronavirus and its symptoms is not just the virus itself but any symptoms or respiratory illnesses that are symptomatic of it. This could be pneumonia, chest infection or any other respiratory infection.
If your relative has passed away with a positive Coronavirus diagnosis and you live in the same house or have been visiting that relative, you must enter a period of 14 days isolation before a funeral service can take place.
We are sorry to add this additional burden at this difficult time.
