Tuesday 18th July saw Blisworth claim the top prize as Northamptonshire Best Village 2017.
The competition is organised every year by Northamptonshire ACRE, a countywide, independent charitable organisation working with rural communities in Northamptonshire to improve their quality of life, especially the disadvantaged. The Competition celebrates community spirit and the quality of life in the County’s villages.
The awards presentation took place at the grade II listed Hunsbury Hill Centre, a group of late 18th century model farm buildings owned by the charity, sitting in 13 acres of woodland, gardens and grounds, and is the HQ for the charity. Hollowells Funeral Plans have sponsored the event for many years and as usual Paul and Annette Hollowell attended to present the awards to all the winning villages.
David Scudamore, Chair of the Competition, led proceedings, with talks from representatives from ACRE and of course Annette giving a talk on behalf of Hollowells and the Now I Am One service.
Hollowells congratulate ALL the winners, runners up and highly commended villages for all their efforts.
